This 8 week-league will consist of 16 professionally coached sessions. We will hold one 90 minute instructional session every Friday from 5-6:30pm and one 120 minute inner squad game every Sunday from 11am-1pm. Players will be split into two groups , 3rd-4th graders and 5th- 6th graders. Each group will have separate local playing fields. Friday instructional sessions will be skills-focused drills, and instructional scrimmage. This will include focused skills groups where players split into small groups for intensive coaching in hitting, pitching, base running and more. Sundays we will hold competitive inner league games with professional coaching and umpires. Each player will receive a Crosstown Jersey and hat, and parents are welcome at all events and encouraged to join us on Sundays! Built by former MLB athletes, our program will feature elite level instruction and player development. It is the ideal complement to your player's existing league, or a standalone path to serious growth. Meet Your Head Coaches Charlie Tilson is a former Major League outfielder who played 11 professional seasons with the Cardinals, White Sox, Pirates, and Phillies. A second-round draft pick out of New Trier High School, he made his MLB debut with the Chicago White Sox in 2016. Tilson posted a .288 career batting average, stole more than 150 bases and was named the top defensive outfielder in the Cardinals organization by Baseball America. Brian Schlitter is a Chicago-area native and Maine South High School alum, Schlitter began his professional journey after being drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in 2007. He played in the MLB for the Chicago Cubs and Oakland Athletics. Schlitter’s career also includes international experience with Japan’s Saitama Seibu Lions. Ryan Lidge is a Barrington native. He was a standout catcher at Notre Dame, where he was named the Johnny Bench Award Watch List twice, and was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 20th round of the 2017 MLB Draft. In 2022, he was named an American Association All-Star with the Chicago Dogs where he hit .322 with 12 HRs and 80 RBIs. Known for his leadership, mental toughness, and competitiveness, Lidge now serves as a mental performance coach with ZoneCoach®, where he helps athletes develop confidence, focus, and a championship mindset. Shawn Goosenberg is a former Northwestern infielder who was a three-year starter for the Wildcats. Goosenberg earned All-Big Ten honors in 2019 and 2021 and led Northwestern in multiple offensive categories throughout his career, most notably hitting 14 HRs over 28 games. He was selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 2021 MLB Draft and went on to play throughout their minor-league system. Goosenberg has also represented Team Israel internationally.
