Crosstown Instructional League The Crosstown Instructional League is an 8-week fall development program designed for players who want high-level coaching, meaningful repetitions, and a fun, competitive environment. Each week includes: • Friday: 90-minute professional instructional session • Sunday: Professionally coached intrasquad game with umpires Players will be divided into two age groups: • 3rd & 4th Grade • 5th & 6th Grade - Fully booked. Email jane@charlietilson.com to join the waitlist. Friday Instructional Sessions Fridays are dedicated to player development through high-repetition, small-group instruction. Players rotate through focused stations covering: • Hitting • Throwing & Pitching • Fielding • Base Running • Baseball IQ & Game Situations Sessions conclude with instructional scrimmages that allow coaches to teach the game in real time. Sunday Games Sundays feature professionally coached intrasquad games with certified umpires. Our unique format allows coaches to pause play to teach game situations, reinforce fundamentals, and maximize player development while still providing a competitive game experience. Every player receives a Crosstown jersey and hat, and families are encouraged to attend all sessions. Meet Your Coaching Staff Charlie Tilson Charlie Tilson is a former Major League outfielder who played 11 professional seasons with the Cardinals, White Sox, Pirates, and Phillies. A second-round draft pick out of New Trier High School, he made his MLB debut with the Chicago White Sox in 2016. Tilson posted a .288 professional batting average, stole more than 150 bases, and was recognized by Baseball America as the top defensive outfielder in the Cardinals organization. Brian Schlitter Brian Schlitter is a Chicago-area native and Maine South graduate who played in Major League Baseball with the Chicago Cubs and Oakland Athletics after being drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in 2007. He also competed professionally in Japan with the Saitama Seibu Lions and brings extensive experience developing pitchers at every level of the game. Ryan Lidge Ryan Lidge starred at Notre Dame before being selected by the New York Yankees in the 2017 MLB Draft. A former professional catcher and 2022 American Association All-Star with the Chicago Dogs, Ryan combines high-level baseball instruction with expertise in leadership, confidence, and mental performance through his work with ZoneCoach®. Andrew Touhy Andrew Touhy is an experienced coach with a passion for player development. Known for his energy, communication, and ability to connect with athletes of all ages, Andrew specializes in helping players build fundamentally sound mechanics while developing confidence and a love for the game. He has extensive experience coaching players throughout the North Shore and is committed to creating a positive, challenging, and fun learning environment.
